The Toddler Program

The Toddler Program at LilyPad Learning Center provides care for children that are 2 years of age. At this time it is important that children learn to interact with each other and participate in activities that encourage language skills. The program is designed to help foster this by planning activities that concentrate on social awareness and involvement with others in the program. The goal is to encourage the children to communicate with, work with, and play kindly with others.

The toddler room has been designed to help meet the needs of this active age. Extra floor space is used to allow children to play and develop freely. The toddler room is located next to the bathrooms that have child-size toilets for potty training.

Communication between staff and parents is still very important at this age. Communication logs are used to inform parents when their child has slept, what they had to eat, what activities they participated in, how the child did with potty training and their overall mood for the day. Any other pertinent information between staff and parent will also be included.
